I  A M  S E A K Y U

Christopher Quyen (Seakyu) is a photographer, writer and filmmaker based in Sydney and working across Australia, New York, Tokyo, and Hawaii. He is currently undergoing a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism)/Law at the University of Technology, Sydney.

As a photographer, he specialises in portrait and fashion photography shooting for Shu Uemura and covering New York Fashion Week SS17. He combines this with his love for film and has shot fashion films for David Jones, Institchu, and Extraordinary Ordinary Day. He also specialises in commercial photography, content creation and digital marketing operating as the creative director under his creative and digital advertising agency, Seakyu Creative. He has since produced online content for companies such as Longines, Country Road, and Carousell.

As a writer, he has written and self-published a novel titled With Watercolours (2013), written for publications such as Capture Magazine and C-Heads Magazine and has been a part of the 2015 editorial team for UTS Vertigo Magazine/Newspaper.

As a filmmaker, he has produced and provided creative direction for films and theatre productions including his own short films, Dezmond (2012), Chasing Shadows (2012) and Peter's Philia (2013).

Cinema was an important part of his upbringing and now he tries to capture the cinematic moments of everyday life in his artistic practices. On this website, you will find a collection of his proudest works.
